REVIEW: Muppets Most Wanted

REVIEW: Muppets Most Wanted

The Muppets Most Wanted stars Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell (Modern Family). It's a great movie all around for both kids and adults!  The story takes you all over the world as the sinister character of Ricky Gervais leads the Muppets to all different countries to perform their "sold out" show in his attempt to find the puzzle which will lead to the key so they can steal the Crown Jewels. The character of Ricky Gervais and the evil (Kermit double with black mole) his partner in crime, disguised as Kermit, set up the real Kermit and get him tossed in "The Gulag" in Russia.  With the green one out of the way, they can play out their evil scheme.  Kermit befriends his jail mates in Russia, while the fake evil Kermit woos Miss Piggy   The jail mates, who Kermit befriends, and his old buddies (who finally realize that the evil Kermit is a fake) help him escape and inevitably save the Muppets and Miss Piggy from marrying the fake and stealing the crown jewels.

The kids loved this movie and the message, which was true friendship will go to any length In the name of loyalty and righteousness and also as the song says,  "Make new friends and keep the old one is silver and the other is gold."

Tina Fey was once again spot on in her comedic portrayal of the tough and love sick Russian "Gulag" warden.  Ricky Gervais, of course, plays evil the way it should be played, deliciously. Ty Burrell and his comedic timing is superb as the detective. Several cameos like Celene Dion, Lady Gaga, Ray Liotta, Zack Galifianakis, Salma Hayek and Frank Langella.  It is a funny and entertaining movie to kick off the Spring!

Daughter Cayley and friend Julia love it and gave it just under 4 stars

3 stars  (mostly because it's great family fun.)
